With reference to your letter of the 2nd,
instant, No. 3267/1914, I regret to inform you that the Command
Paymaster is unable to furnish a separate statement of the cost of
maintenance etc. of Prisoners of War under the four categories quoted by you, as a general account only has been kept since the
Comp was opened.
He will be in a position however to furnish e
statement of the cost under (a) (b) and (c) collectively, and (d),
but this can only be arrived at by proportion, the numbers of
Prisoners under (a) (b) and (c) being known, also the total cost.
Will this be sufficient for your purpose.
